I’m Jemma Traill, an award-winning Creative Lead and Art Director with more than seven years’ experience shaping global brands across campaign, digital, social, motion, eCommerce and retail.
I lead creative work from early strategy through production, bringing designers, writers, animators, producers and marketing partners around one clear vision. My leadership style is warm, no drama and collaborative: clear expectations, constructive feedback and practical systems that help people do their best work.
How I lead and develop people
I have managed freelance creatives and junior designers, providing clear briefs, setting expectations, reviewing work and supporting them through challenges. I adapt my approach to each person’s experience and confidence—giving junior designers the guidance and context they need to grow, while empowering experienced freelancers to bring their expertise to the work. My leadership style is approachable and supportive, with clear feedback and accountability to ensure everyone understands what success looks like.
How I partner with marketing and commercial teams
I work closely with brand managers, marketing, content, production, product and commercial teams to connect creative thinking with customer and business objectives. I ask questions early, clarify priorities and help translate technical or commercial requirements into engaging creative. By involving key partners throughout the process, I can protect the strength of the creative idea while balancing brand consistency, deadlines, budgets and the practical needs of different channels and markets.
How I improve creative workflows
I look for practical ways to make creative work clearer, more consistent and easier to deliver. This includes improving briefs, introducing defined review stages, consolidating feedback and creating templates, shared folder structures and asset-management systems. I use tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and FrameIO to support collaboration and visibility. My goal is to reduce unnecessary revision rounds, keep responsibilities and timelines clear, and give the team more time to focus on producing excellent creative work.
